Dear benefactors, sponsors and friends of St. Patrick,
Greetings from Uganda, from St. Patrick School and from me. I am happy to update you in this newsletter about our school as follows.
We ended our first Term successfully on May 3, 2023. It was a long Term of around three months and kids were eager to take a break. The parents were very happy when they came to pick up their children who are in boarding. They said that the children looked healthy and had improved in academics as well. There is very high competition among students in academics and this fulfills our mission of academic excellence. The administration and staff are very committed in ensuring that our mission is achieved. The students are expected to report for Second Term on May 27, 2023.
We do not only support children at St. Patrick but we also have 16 students (Alumni of St. Patrick) in High School. Some of the High School students came to greet me and their first comments were that St. Patrick is better than the schools they are attending in terms of feeding and beautiful infrastructure. They said they missed St. Patrick.
I would like to thank our esteemed donors and benefactors for the support in capital development over the years. I thank all those sponsors who have enabled the needy students to attend good schools.
Currently we are putting up a computer/library block. The same block will house the teachers' lounge and will accommodate some staff members on the basement level. It is now in advanced stages of construction. We are doing terrazzo floor and painting of the walls and railing. We project that by mid-July, 2023 it will be completed. The remaining work will be stocking it with books and putting in computers.
We have already engaged the supplier of the computers and he gave us a quotation. This week they are sending us one of their staff to do a survey of the space where the computers will be installed so we can plan for the needed wiring/cabling and installing furniture. This will be followed by the procurement of the computers. We need 100 computers and appeal to you for support towards the purchase of these computers and stocking the library with the books.
On August 5, 2023, I will be celebrating my 25 years priestly anniversary. Please keep me in your prayers to continue serving God's people as the Lord wants me to do.
I am looking forward to receiving the group of 12 US friends coming to Uganda to celebrate with me and visit the school. I can't wait to see all of you. I pray for your safe travels and am hoping that the Computer/Library block will be completed by that date and we will officially open it during your visit.
I wish all of you good health and choice blessings. Please be assured of my and the students' prayers.
