Beauty and poverty, opportunities and challenges, dreams and needs…Uganda. It is for her children that we work to build a school…and thus to Build Hope in Kids.

BHIK-U Board President John Grillot was in Uganda in late February and early March. He took a “scenic route” to the school. Fr. Julius joined him to check out the Ziwa Rhino &amp; Wildlife Ranch and Murchison Falls (where the Nile River forces its way through a 23 ft. wide gap in the rocks), both in central Uganda. After seeing the sights, they travelled on to the school, where the band and the entire boarding student body provided a grand welcome to their U.S. visitor!

Greetings from St. Patrick Nursery and Primary School in Isingiro Uganda.

We started the new school year on February 10.

We are happy to report that our P7 candidates of 2025 excelled in the National Examinations. We had 77 candidates and 73 of them attained Division 1 while 4 came in Division 2. We were ranked the best in the entire district of Isingiro. This was a fantastic achievement we don’t take for granted. Indeed God has been on our side. We celebrated as a school these results on February 12. Among our sponsored candidates we had one named Tayebwa Doris Patricia who scored aggregate 4 which is a perfect score. There were two other students (who are not sponsored) who also had a perfect score of aggregate 4. These are extremely rare scores in schools nationwide.

We are grateful that our school is turning out high-performing students that are among the best in the entire nation. In fact it was ranked number 30 out of the best 1000 schools nationally. We attribute this success to not only our PHD (Prayer, Hard work and Discipline) slogan but also to the overall direction of the school, the curriculum, the administrative staff, and the teachers. Our community of supporters from the USA continues to be our great motivation and inspiration to ensure we graduate students who are holistically prepared for success.

As we start another school year we hope that our current P7 candidates will shine and make us proud again. Please keep them in your prayers. God bless you all for your continued support.

The 2026 school year in Uganda begins on Tuesday, February 10 th . While the students have been on their “long break” since December 3rd, workers have been busy painting railings to protect them from corrosion due to Uganda’s rainy seasons. The dormitories have had a facelift, with the fronts of the buildings repainted.

Staff is on the scene to prepare for the new school year. Boarding students report on February 7th.

The Board approved adding 20 sponsorships for 2026. Fr. Julius has NO trouble finding parents eager to send their children to our school; we need to find willing sponsors for those students!
